Highway Memorials
Many
of us have experienced the loss of family members or friends on our highways. The purpose of this site is to allow people
to e mail pictures,
of roadside memorials, that have been erected or a picture
of a person that was a victim of a vehicle accident.
Pictures are placed on site with respect and with condolences, to the family and friends, who had to experience this type
of tragedy.
Every
time I pass a memorial, I wonder
Who was that person or those people?
What happened?
Could it have been prevented?
Can
we learn something?
I think about what it was like
(we experienced
being awakened from sleep)
when the family was notified of the accident.
We
hope that people, who view the memorials, will consider their driving habits.
Drive the speed limit only if weather
and circumstances permit.
Pass only in designated areas.
Exercise patience when behind slow drivers.
Anger and driving don't ride well together.
Better to be late than a statistic.
Report
drunken drivers. It could save YOUR life and someone else
Take a moment, to prepare to drive, Look and check around your vehicle.
No tail-gating ..driving too close, behind other drivers.,,
Wear YOUR seatbelt
As a passenger, ask the driver to slow
down..
Stop at stop signs, Yield right of
way.
Don't try and beat the amber light.
Accidents will happen
but let's do everything we can to prevent one.
Note:
Please
do not e mail complete details of an accident.
All we need to know is the
person's name, date,
accident location and the cause from an accident
report.
eg: Speed, weather conditions, equipment failure, alcohol may have
been a factor,
drugs may have been a factor, illness, a tired driver, not
paying attention,
If you are going to take pictures please, please be extremely careful.
Because of some
provincial and state laws, highway memorials are banned.
Please obey the law.
You can e mail a picture with the person's name, accident date and
location.
Eventually
the site will be broken down into states and provinces.
